Ashley and Bob are a Dutch couple who have a successful career in the porn industry. Ashley is a dancer and model. She’s appeared on the cover of several erotic magazines and has been in the industry since she was 18 years old. Recently her husband Bob joined her in the production of porn videos.
TBP: Was it a difficult decision to record X rated movies?
B&A: Not at all, because Ashley has been working in the erotic industry since she was 18 years old. She worked as a stripper, dancer and a pole dancer. We’ve been together for seven years now and in the meantime I got used to it. Of course you don’t make a decision like this right away. The key ingredients are clear agreements, trust in each other and last but not least, have a stable private life.
TBP: How do you record your videos? Do you work with a team?
B&A: We record our own videos using 1 or 2 cameras, which we hold in our hand or put on a tripod. Sometimes we laugh our butt off when things go wrong, but luckily they invented video editing software. When everything is shot, I transfer the source files to the laptop to edit them. A lot of cutting, dragging and pasting, inserting transitions, intros, etc. Sometimes I add music as well.
TBP: How do your family and friends respond to your career?
B&A: It was a matter of “just wait and see” how people would respond. We thought it was the best if we would just announce it on Facebook. We were surprised that of all the people we know it only caused difficulty for 1 or 2 people. Our Facebook timeline was in a short time filled with nice comments. The people we know are luckily utterly positive!
TBP: Do you make money with the videos?
B&A: Of course we make money with the videos, but even more important, it’s a business card as well that helps us to find work from bigger production companies in the industry from the Netherlands and other countries.
